Planet trail at Stokmarknes, Norway

On the 5 km footpath from Hadsel Church and Cultural Park to Stokmarknes you will be able to have a ” Planet Walk ” / ” Planet Meeting To illustrate the difficult comprehensible distances and sizes in our solar system , we have down scaled this by placing the dwarf planet Pluto at Stokmarknes as a 2 mm wide pinhead and as one approaches Hadsel Church you meet the planets in turn – Jupiter which is the largest will be 15 cm in diameter – at Hadsel the Sun is placed with a diameter of 1.3 m . The walk will also give a sense of the distance between the planets.
